Who can attend?


The conference is open to everyone between the ages 13 - 18* years old who identifies as female. Participants may attend individually, with a friend, or with a group. We welcome Girl Scouts, school clubs, other female-focused youth groups, etc. The more the merrier! *Must be going into 12th grade and has not graduated yet.




What is the cost? What does my ticket include?


PARTICIPANT ticket price is (TBD) and includes: *Admittance to all workshops and activities *All meals (Friday: dinner / Saturday: lunch & dinner / Sunday: breakfast & lunch) *Standard lodging (shared room) *Gift bag PARENT (Shared Apartment) ticket price is (TBD) and includes: *All meals (Friday: dinner / Saturday: lunch & dinner / Sunday: breakfast & lunch) *Lodging (You may share a suite with your daughteror with another parent) *Optional parent workshop PARENT (Private Apartment) ticket price is (TBD) and includes: *All meals (Friday: dinner / Saturday: lunch & dinner / Sunday: breakfast & lunch) *Lodging (You will have a private suite) *Optional parent workshop




Can I request my daughter's roommate(s)?


Yes, you may request a roommate. If your daughter is attending alone, she will be assigned a roommate in the same age range, with similar interests (if possible). We will do our best to accommodate all requests. In the event we cannot accommodate your request you will be notified one week prior to the event.




Are parents allowed to attend the wokshops?


We invite parents to join us for the following sessions: FRIDAY Welcome Parent Workshop SATURDAY Panel Interview Talent Show / Party SUNDAY Panel Interview Closing / Goodbyes The Youth EmpowHERment Sleepover was created to provide the participants with a safe space to be open and honest with themselves and their peers. We request that parents not attend most sessions. Thank you for your understanding.




Do you run a background check on your staff?


Yes, all staff members have passed a background check. Participants not attending with a parent/chaperone will be assigned to a YES staff member. The ratio is 1 adult to every 8-10 participants.




Can I pick the chaperone/staff member my daughter is assigned to?


Yes. If you know an adult who is already attending, you may request your daughter be assigned to them by indicating so on the registration form. There is also a space to indicate the names of any friends she is attending with.




What should she bring?


All rooms are supplied with fresh linens and towels. * Clothes * Hygiene products * Pillow (provided but optional) * Yoga mat or beach towel (optional) * Water bottle (optional) * At least 1 pack of individually wrapped menstrual hygiene products for the donation




What should she wear?


Comfort is key! Attendees will participate in various activities throughout the conference, including indoor and outdoor activites, dance, sitting on the floor in groups, etc. We suggest wearing what makes her comfortable and makes her feel good. Everyone will have an opprtunity to change/prepare (optional) before the talent show/party. Casual is encouraged.




Does she need additional money?


All activities, lodging, and meals are included. Our gift bags are free and filled with goodies so you'll be sure to leave with some great loot. There is a convenient store and coffee shop on campus near the dorms.




How can I reach your staff during the conference if I'm not staying?


Approximately one week before the conference, you will receive your child's chaperone contact information along with a complete list of contacts for emergencies. For all other questions, please email us at hello@youthempowhermentsleepover.com. We will check email regularly throughout the conference. We don't ever want you to feel out of the loop on what your daughter is experiencing.




How do I know the content is appropriate?


Content is age appropriate and organized in a way that builds up and not overwhelms. Attendees will be divided by age for some breakout sessions and activities. Please feel free to contact us for additional information.




Is my daughter required to stay overnight?


Absolutely not! Participants may attend as much or as little of the conference as they would like. If participants elect not to stay the night, if possible, it is recommended they stay until the activities end each day and return before breakfast to participate in all of the activities.




Are parents required to stay overnight?


Parents are required to stay overnight, however, it is optional. Parents have three options: 1. Room with your daughter 2. Room with another parent 3. Reserve a private suite Participants attending alone will be placed in a room with another girl in the same age range. We will do our best to accommodate all room requests.




Are scholarships available? How do I apply?


Yes, both full and partial scholarships are available for participants. Please email us directly at hello@youthempowhermentsleepover.com for more information.
